-Natural Beauty Secrets: Homemade Facial Cleansers

One of the best natural beauty secrets is to make and use your own homemade facial cleanser. Its also a great way to save money. The best type of cleanser should include natural alpha hydroxy acids (AHA) because they help exfoliate and dissolve old dead, pore clogging skin cells. This make the skin looks smoother, clear, healthier and able to absorb moisturizers and anti-aging creams better.

There are tons of natural food products in your kitchen right now that naturally contain alpha hydroxy acids including sugar, lemons, pineapples, oranges, milk, and vinegar just to name a few. An alpha hydroxy acid (AHA) cleanser is equally great for oil skin as it is dry skin because it helps eliminate excess oils for oily types and allows better deep penetration of moisturizers for dry skin types.

Dry skin homemade facial cleanser – mix 2-3 tablespoons of whole fat milk (or low fat) and 1 tablespoon of sugar. Make a paste and apply to the face in circular scrubbing motions. Rinse well. and apply a good moisturizerlike an olive oil moisturizer.

Apply a moisturizer while your skin is still slightly damp. You can use an olive oil moisturizer or a clinically approved moisturizer for severely dry skin that provides up to 8 hours of continuous hydration. To make a homemade cleanser for oily skin – mix 2 tablespoons of baking soda with either lemon juice or tomato juice. Add enough juice to make a thick paste and scrub the face and neck area well.

Make sure to rinse very well in cool water and apply a moisturizer especially formulated for oily skin. A good, non-greasy moisturizer is important to keep skin properly hydrated.

To make a homemade facial cleanser – you can mix any type of AHA listed above along with an abrasive like baking soda, sugar, crushed almonds, oatmeal, or yogurt.

Mix the ingredients into a paste adding more or less until the consistency is a thick paste. Massage this paste over the face and neck lightly and rinse well with cool water. Make sure to follow-up with a moisturizer. You wont believe how great your skin will feel and look.
